Available in all territory served by the Cooperative, subject to the Cooperative’s Service Rules and Regulations.
Applicability
Applicable to consumers supplied at a single location who meet the following requirements for service:
- The consumer's monthly maximum demands must be at least 500 kW.
- The consumer takes service directly from a Hoosier Energy supplied transmission-to-distribution substation.
Type of Service
Service shall be three-phase, 60 hertz, at available standard voltages.
Monthly Rate
- Connection Charge: $150 per month
- Demand Charge: $18.17 per kW
- Energy Charges:
- On-Peak: $0.06300 per kwh
- Off-Peak: $0.04754 per kwh
- Excess Net kVARh charge: $0.01009 per kVARh
Billing Demand
Billing Demand shall be the highest consecutive 30-minute demand (the Non-Coincident Demand) during the peak hours of the month expressed in kilowatts, but in no event less than 75% of the highest billing demand used in any of the preceding 11 months, or 500 kilowatts, whichever is greater Peak hours are defined as those hours from 7 am to 11 pm, E.S.T., daily.
Billing kWh
The billing kwh shall be the actual kwh used during the billing month or 328.5 times the monthly billing demand.
Determination of Energy
On-Peak:
For the months of June through August, excluding Independence Day, On-Peak energy shall be all kilowatt-hours used during the period 2 pm to 8 pm E.S.T. – Monday through Friday.
For the months of December through February, excluding Christmas and New Years Day, On-Peak Energy shall be all kilowatt-hours used during the periods 7 am to 10 am E.S.T. and 6 pm to 9 pm E.S.T. – Monday through Friday.
Off-Peak:
Off-Peak Energy shall be all kilowatt-hours used during all hours other than on-peak hours as described above.
Power Factor
If the power factor (leading or lagging) at the time of the Non-Coincident Demand is determined to be less than 97%, the Non-Coincident Demand shall be adjusted separately by multiplying the Non-Coincident Demand by the ratio of the current target power factor percent 97% and the measured actual power factor percent at the time of the Non-Coincident Demand. If the Average Monthly Power Factor (leading or lagging) is determined to be less than 95%, the “Excess Net kVARh” subject to the “Excess Net kVARh charge” is the difference between the actual measured Net kVARh amount and a calculated Net kVARh based upon the recorded kWh for the month and the targeted average monthly power factor of 95%. The Net kVARh calculation is based upon the standard Average Monthly Power Factor equation of:
The AMPF is equal to: kWh divided by (the square root of [kWh squared plus Net kVARh squared]).
Net KVARh is equal to: kWh multiplied by (the square root of [1 divided by {AMPF} squared] minus 1]).
Minimum Monthly Charge
The minimum monthly charge shall be the greater of:
- The contract minimum.
- The sum of the connection charge, demand charge, the energy charge, and excess Net kVARh.
Other Wholesale Charges & Credits
In addition to the wholesale demand and energy charges which are included in the demand and energy charges of the monthly rate, the consumer shall pay all other charges including but not limited to the Power Cost Tracker, and receive all other credits billed the Cooperative by Hoosier Energy for service hereunder pursuant to Hoosier Energy's Industrial Power Tariff and which are not specifically covered by another provision of this schedule.
Wholesale Rate Changes
Should there be any change in the Hoosier Energy Industrial Power Tariff under which the Cooperative purchases power for service hereunder, the charges and provisions of Schedule IPS shall change correspondingly such that the change in wholesale power cost is passed through to the consumer.
Terms & Conditions of Service
- The applicant will be required to give satisfactory assurance by means of a written agreement as to the character, amount, and duration of the business offered.
- In general, individual motors rated in excess of 20 horsepower must be three-phase.
- Any transformers and regulation equipment which may be required for incidental lighting shall be furnished by the consumer.

IPS Appendix Miscellaneous Charges
Collection Fees
When it is necessary for the personnel of RSE to go to a member’s premises to collect a delinquent bill, a collection fee of $30 per trip shall be charged in lieu of disconnection.
Reconnection Fees
A member that has been disconnected shall be assessed a fee of $30 for reconnection during regular business hours. Payment must be made by a credit or debit card over the phone or pay in the office with cash, certified check, or money order during regular business hours, prior to reconnection.
For delinquent bills, the member shall pay in full all amounts due up to and including date of disconnect and shall pay before service is reconnected.
The fee for a seasonal service reconnection shall be $30.
Overtime Reconnection Fees
Connection of electric service after hours, at the member’s request, will be assessed a connection fee of $75 and must be paid prior to connection of electric service.
Late Payment Fees
Bills shall be rendered and due monthly. If bills are not paid on or before the seventeenth day following the due date, the bill shall have late charges added as follows: All net billing 3%
Insufficient Funds Fee
When a payment received on a member’s account, in any form, is returned unpaid for any reason by a financial institution, the member shall be assessed a fee of $30.
Meter Testing Fee
When a member requests a meter test less than twelve months from their most recent meter test, whether such earlier test was by consumer or Cooperative request, the member shall be required to pay a $30 fee for the latest test.
New Account Fee
Any member requesting a new service or a service at an existing location transferred into their name shall pay a $30 non-refundable fee for the account creation and activation.
Deposit
All new accounts shall be subject to a deposit of $150 or $300 based upon specific circumstances with a credit report obtained from either a third-party credit reporting agency or RSE credit history.
